Financial support for dependants

A membership in the pharmacy pension scheme provides security for both yourself and your family. If a member should die, the dependants (spouse or children) may be entitled to a dependants’ pension in form of monthly payments.

Important information

  • The dependants' pension includes benefits for both spouse and children.
  • Generally, the pension is granted and paid automatically. We will contact you if specific documentation is required.
  • It is the spouse or registered civil partner (not cohabitants) who is entitled to a survivor's pension. The member's children under the age of 20 are also entitled to fixed payments called child pension.
  • You do not need to register your family with us if your marriage is registered in Norwegian public records (Folkeregisteret).

The process prior to payment

  1. We receive a death notification from the National Population Register, the employer or NAV.
  2. In some cases, it is required that the dependants apply for dependants’ benefits from NAV. We will inform you if relevant in your case.
  3. We automatically start the case handling of a dependants’ pension for you as a spouse / registered civil partner and your children. The duration of our case handling is normally 2 to 3 months from the time of notification. We will get in touch with you if we need your marriage certificate or any other documentation.

You are welcome to get in touch with us if you have any questions. Please log in using your D-number and Bank-ID.
