Everyone who performs work for an employer is covered by the Occupational Injury Act.
This law ensures employees compensation for injury/illness as a result of an occupational injury. In addition it ensures the survivors compensation if the employee should die as a result of the occupational injury/illness. Everyone has these rights, independent of whom their employer is.
Those who are comprised by the government's main tariff agreement are in addition covered by the agreement's joint decisions relating to occupational injury. The Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund administrates this agreement for most of those comprised by it. Municipalities/counties often take out insurance for their teachers within mandatory education and high school level from other insurance institutions than the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
If your employer has taken out occupational injury insurance with us, you will be entitled to compensation in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Injury Act. If you are paid according to the government's main tariff agreement, you are entitled to additional compensation in accordance with this agreement.
